Inspection Authorization (IA) Exam Preparation Course — 3 Day
Ready to take the next step in your career and earn your Inspection Authorization (IA)? The America’s Best AMT IA Course is a focused, 3-day intensive program designed to prepare qualified A&P mechanics for the FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Examination.
This course is exam-preparation focused and intended for experienced mechanics who meet FAA eligibility requirements. It is not an introductory course—applicants are expected to arrive prepared and actively engaged.
FAA Eligibility Requirements
To enroll in this course, applicants must meet FAR 65.91 requirements, including:
- Holding an FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate for at least three (3) years
- Actively engaged in maintaining aircraft for two (2) years immediately preceding the application
- Maintaining a fixed base of operation
- Having access to the equipment, facilities, and current inspection data necessary to perform IA duties and functions
⚠️ This course is specifically designed for applicants who meet FAR 65.91.
International IA Applicants
International applicants who hold a U.S. FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate are eligible to pursue Inspection Authorization through our program.
- Applicants will receive authorization via FAA Form 8610-1
- America’s Best AMT Courses will escort applicants to a local FAA International Field Office prior to the course to obtain approval to test
- Upon successful completion of the course and examination, applicants will return to the FAA to receive their Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate

- This is a 3-Day IA Exam Preparation Course
- Testing fees are separate and paid independently to PSI
- Enrollment is limited due to the intensive nature of the program

- Failure to complete the Student Agreement may result in delays or loss of eligibility
Refunds:
Testing fees are separate from the course and to take the course you need your 8610-1. If you sign up for one and you do not have authorization from the FAA, refunds will not be issued.
