The FAA introduced the Inspection Authorization (IA) around 1957, transitioning from reissuing annual airworthiness certificates to implementing annual inspections. This pivotal change allowed qualified mechanics to perform essential specialized inspections, significantly contributing to the safety and efficiency of the U.S. civil aviation fleet. Today, IA certification empowers A&P mechanics to conduct a broader range of maintenance and alterations than any other aviation maintenance credential. Do you pilot a drone for a business or for recreation? If you do or think that will then America's Best AMT offers a 3-day Drone Certification prep-course. Per 14CFR, part 107 pilots of drones for business purposes are required to be certified. If you are interested in taking this 3-day Drone Certification prep-course or have any questions about the course, please contact us.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL) exam is available through our test center. This license is required by the FCC to fix radios, radars, and transponders in modern aircraft. The GROL also authorizes you to oversee unlicensed technicians as they perform radio and radar repair. You are not required to attend an Avionics Technical School to participate in the FCC examinations or to gain employment as an avionics technician. The GROL is a great addition to a resume and shows dedication to your education for employers.
NOTE: All those seeking the GROL must be a legal resident of United States or eligible to work in the United States. Americas Best AMT has a $25 testing facility fee. This is our fee, separate from the FCC fee.
